As the crow flies it is 54 miles across to the Wisconsin shore from the Pierce Stocking Scenic Overlook.  Number 9 it's affectionately called.  There will be no land ho exclaimed here! Nor will there be any sightings of infamous whales like Moby Dick.  Just the vastness of a body of sparkling azure blue fresh water stretched out to the horizon.
